If you're comparing Lattice competitors, you probably want performance reviews that managers actually finish, engagement and recognition in the same place, and a bill that doesn't climb every time you hire. Lattice is still a strong performance management platform. But it ended its payroll product on March 31, 2026 and its HRIS on July 31, 2026, and its pricing starts to sting as headcount grows.
The short answer: the best Lattice alternatives for HR teams in 2026 are ThriveSparrow for engagement, recognition and performance in one modular platform, Small Improvements for lightweight continuous reviews, 15Five for manager check-ins, Leapsome for learning tied to performance, and Culture Amp for deep engagement analytics.
If cost is why you're leaving, start with modular pricing. ThriveSparrow lets you buy only the module you need, from $2/user/month for recognition or $3/user/month for engagement surveys, instead of a full suite. Try ThriveSparrow free for 14 days!

What happened to Lattice HRIS and payroll?
Lattice discontinued its HRIS and payroll products in 2026 and now focuses on performance management and engagement. It announced the change in November 2025. Payroll access ended on March 31, 2026, and HRIS access ended on July 31, 2026.
Lattice itself isn't going away. Its performance and engagement tools continue, so the shutdown affects you only if you ran employee records, payroll or time tracking in Lattice.
One honest note: ThriveSparrow is not an HRIS or a payroll tool. If you need a system of record, pair a dedicated HRIS with whichever performance and engagement platform you choose. Most of the tools below integrate with common HRIS platforms [VERIFY: check each integration list].

How much does Lattice cost in 2026?
Lattice prices each module per seat per month, billed annually, with a $4,000 minimum annual agreement and no free trial listed (Tability, verified Jul 31, 2026). In July 2026 it raised Performance from $8 to $10 and its Foundations bundle from $11 to $13 (UsagePricing).

How much can you save by switching from Lattice?
These examples use list prices billed annually, before any negotiated discount.
The gap is widest for small teams, where Lattice's $4,000 minimum sets the price, and for teams buying performance and goals together. ThriveSparrow doesn't publish a minimum contract; contact sales for volume pricing.
What is Lattice?
Lattice (lattice.com) is performance management software for running structured reviews, setting goals and collecting employee feedback. Mid-sized and enterprise teams use it as a dedicated people management system. Since July 2026 it no longer offers an HRIS or payroll.
For a full breakdown of its features and pricing, see our Lattice review.
Why do teams look for Lattice alternatives?
Most teams don't leave because Lattice is bad. They leave because their needs outgrow what they're paying for. These are the four reasons that come up most:
- Costs climb with headcount. Pricing gets harder to justify as you add employees, especially if you only use part of the suite.
- Engagement and recognition lag behind performance. Teams that want pulse surveys, eNPS and peer recognition next to reviews often find those modules thinner than Lattice's performance core.
- Structured cycles feel rigid. Formal review cycles bring consistency, but they can slow teams that want continuous feedback.
- The HRIS is gone. Teams that consolidated payroll and employee records into Lattice now have to replace them, which reopens the whole stack.
If one of those is why you're here, the breakdown below tells you which tool fixes it and what you give up.

The 8 best Lattice alternatives, reviewed
Each tool follows the same format, so you can compare across them: who it's for, what it does well, where it falls short, and when to pick it.
1. ThriveSparrow: best for engagement, performance and recognition in one platform

Type: All-in-one employee experience platform
ThriveSparrow is the Lattice alternative for teams that want engagement surveys, peer recognition, 360 feedback and OKRs in one system, priced by module. Most teams switch to it when surveys live in one tool, reviews in another and recognition in a Slack channel.
Key features
- Engage: pulse, eNPS and lifecycle surveys with AI sentiment analysis, drilldown analytics and multilingual support
- Kudos: peer recognition with appreciation points, a customizable rewards marketplace and Slack and MS Teams integration
- Performance: 360 feedback, AI-generated personal development plans, trend analysis, bell curve and radar views
- Goals (OKRs): goal cycles, tree view for alignment, CSV import
- Infer AI: sentiment analysis on open-text responses, heatmaps by team and manager, self vs. peer gap analysis
ThriveSparrow Pricing (billed annually): Engage $3, Kudos $2, Performance $5, Goals $3 per user per month. A 200-person team that only needs surveys and recognition pays for those two modules, not a suite.
Customer results (from ThriveSparrow’s customer stories): TVS Sensing Solutions reached a 96.8% survey response rate, Enable India cut its review cycle from about 14 weeks to 5–6 weeks, and Learning Equation cut 360 admin time by 50%.
Where it stands out
- Modular pricing with published bundles: a team that only needs surveys and recognition pays $4 per employee per month for Engage + Kudos.
- One-on-Ones and Feedback are free on every plan, and Kudos includes a rewards marketplace of 800+ global gift cards.
Where it falls short
- It isn’t an HRIS, so former Lattice HRIS users still need a system of record.
Choose it if you want engagement, recognition and performance working together and you’d rather pay per module.
Skip it if you need one vendor for HRIS and payroll.

2. Small Improvements: best for lightweight, continuous performance reviews

Type: Continuous performance management platform
Where ThriveSparrow spans engagement and recognition, Small Improvements goes deeper on the review workflow itself. It suits growing companies that want reviews, feedback, objectives and 1:1s that managers will actually use, without enterprise-style configuration.
Key features
- Launch: essential performance reviews, praise, company directory and HRIS integrations
- Grow: adds 360 and anytime feedback, objectives, 1:1 meetings, pulse surveys and Slack integration
- Elevate: every feature, integration and customization, plus advanced analytics
Pricing (per user per month, billed annually): Launch $3, Grow $6, Elevate $9. Launch and Grow have a 20-user minimum and Elevate a 30-user minimum. A 30-day free trial is available.
Where it stands out
- Low, published prices from $3 per user per month, plus a 30-day free trial.
- The $6 Grow plan bundles 360 feedback, objectives, 1:1s and pulse surveys.
Where it falls short
- Pulse surveys and 1:1s start on Grow, so the $3 plan covers reviews and praise only.
- Recognition is praise; no rewards marketplace is listed.
- Guided implementation sessions are extra, from $200 per hour.
Choose it if your main Lattice complaint is rigid review cycles.
Skip it if recognition with rewards is a priority.
3. 15Five: best for manager check-ins on remote and hybrid teams

Type: Engagement and performance management platform
If manager rhythm matters more than review depth, 15Five is built around it. Its weekly check-ins keep managers and employees talking on distributed teams, alongside engagement surveys, OKRs and High Fives recognition.
Key features
- Engage: engagement surveys with AI-powered analytics
- Perform: AI-powered performance reviews, 1-on-1s, check-ins, OKRs, career growth tools and High Fives recognition
- Total Platform: everything in Engage and Perform, plus manager training microlearnings
Pricing (per user per month, billed annually): Engage $4, Perform $11, Total Platform $16. Add-ons include manager content at $49 per manager per month, Kona Coach at $19 per manager per month and coaching at $399 per credit.
Where it stands out
- Published per-user pricing with no stated minimum.
- Weekly check-ins and High Fives recognition are built into the Perform plan, so manager habits and recognition live in one workflow.
Where it falls short
- Manager add-ons can push the real per-employee cost well above the headline rate.
- Free-trial availability varies; plan on a sales demo.
- At the full-platform level it costs more than ThriveSparrow ($16 vs $9).
Choose it if you want a structured weekly manager rhythm.
Skip it if you need a rewards marketplace or the lowest full-suite price.

4. Leapsome: best for connecting learning with performance

Type: People enablement platform
The next tools suit larger, more formal programs. Leapsome connects learning, performance and engagement in one platform, which is rare. If development is inseparable from performance at your company, it deserves a demo.
Key features
- Learning paths linked to performance reviews
- Engagement surveys and goal management
- Instant Feedback with public praise, custom praise badges and a Praise Wall
Pricing: quoted per user, per module, with multi-module discounts; full pricing isn’t published.
Where it stands out
- Learning paths connect directly to performance reviews and competencies.
- Praise, feedback and meeting notes feed into review writing, so reviews draw on evidence from the whole year.
Where it falls short
- You need a sales quote to see real prices.
- A typical multi-module deployment lands in the same range as Lattice, so it’s rarely the budget option.
Choose it if L&D and performance are tightly linked.
Skip it if you mainly need surveys and recognition at a low price.

5. Culture Amp: best for engagement analytics and benchmarking
.avif)
Type: Employee experience and analytics platform
Culture Amp is the benchmark for engagement analytics, with three modules you can buy separately: Engage, Perform and Develop. It’s an impressive tool, and also a lot of tool if you’d only use one module.
Key features
- Engagement surveys with benchmarking
- Performance reviews in Perform; skills and growth in Develop
- Shoutouts, a recognition tool that runs in Slack and Microsoft Teams, with company-value tagging
Pricing: quote-based and billed annually, set by headcount band, modules and service tier. There’s no public free plan or self-serve trial.
Where it stands out
- Engagement benchmarking for organizations that want to compare results against peers.
- Shoutouts brings recognition into Slack and Microsoft Teams, with company values tagged on each one.
Where it falls short
- You can’t see a price without a sales conversation.
- A full view of the employee experience usually means buying more than one module.
Choose it if benchmarking across a large workforce is the priority.
Skip it if you’d only use one module or need published pricing.

6. Betterworks: best for enterprise OKR alignment

Type: Performance management platform
Betterworks leads with goals. Its Performance plan combines OKRs, check-ins, reviews and 1:1s, with analytics aimed at executives running goal alignment across large organizations.
Key features
- Goals and OKRs with alignment across the organization
- Check-ins and 1:1s
- Performance reviews
- Talent intelligence on a higher tier
Pricing: Performance from $8 per user per month; higher tiers and Enterprise cost more, with Enterprise by quote. There’s no free tier or self-serve trial.
Where it stands out
- Publishes list pricing from $8 per user per month, which is uncommon for an enterprise OKR vendor.
- One Performance plan covers OKRs, check-ins, reviews and 1:1s.
Where it falls short
- The $8 list price covers the core Performance plan; talent intelligence and enterprise scope cost more.
- It’s built for large, OKR-mature organizations, so smaller teams may find it heavier than they need.
Choose it if you run on OKRs across hundreds of employees.
Skip it if you’re a smaller team or new to OKRs.
Compare: Betterworks alternatives
7. Workleap (formerly Officevibe): best for flat-fee engagement and performance

Type: Engagement platform
Officevibe is now part of the Workleap platform, which bundles pulse surveys, recognition, 1:1s, performance management and compensation planning. In 2026 Workleap replaced Officevibe’s per-user plans and free tier with flat annual platform pricing, and officevibe.com pricing now points to workleap.com.
Key features
- Pulse surveys, recognition and 1:1s
- Performance management and compensation planning
- Reporting, with API access, SAML SSO and advanced customization on Pro
- Optional Manager Agent add-on
Pricing: Standard from $4,999 per year (engagement, performance, compensation planning and reporting) and Pro from $11,999 per year (adds API access, SAML SSO and advanced customization). Enterprise is quoted for organizations above 250 employees, and a Manager Agent add-on costs $99 per manager per month.
Where it stands out
- One predictable annual price covers engagement, performance, compensation planning and reporting.
- The flat fee becomes inexpensive per head for teams of roughly 75–250 people.
Where it falls short
- The flat fee is steep for very small teams; it gets cheaper per head at roughly 75–250 people.
- SAML SSO and API access need the Pro plan.
- No free tier anymore.
Choose it if you have 75–250 people and want engagement plus performance basics at one predictable price.
Skip it if you’re a small team or want to pay per module.
Compare: Officevibe alternatives
8. BambooHR: best if you lost Lattice HRIS

Type: HRIS and people operations platform
BambooHR is less a Lattice alternative and more a replacement for the HR stack Lattice dropped. It covers employee records, time off and onboarding, with performance management on its Pro plan.
Key features
- Core: employee records, reporting, hiring, onboarding and time off
- Pro: performance management with 360 review cycles and 1:1s, plus employee community and recognition
- Elite: compensation management, custom dashboards and HR benchmarks
- Add-ons: payroll, benefits administration and time tracking
Pricing (per employee per month, for 25+ employees): Core $10, Pro $17, Elite $25, with volume discounts as headcount grows.
Where it stands out
- One system of record for employee data, onboarding and time off, which former Lattice HRIS customers now need.
- Published per-employee starting prices for every plan.
Where it falls short
- Performance management isn’t on Core, and payroll costs extra.
- Performance features are lighter than dedicated tools.
Choose it if you need a new system of record now.
Skip it if engagement and recognition depth matter most; pair it with a dedicated platform instead.
Which Lattice alternative solves your problem?
Start from the problem that sent you here, not from the tool list.
How do you switch from Lattice?
Most switches take one review or survey cycle to settle. Plan the move around your renewal date, because Lattice contracts are billed annually.
- Check your renewal date and notice period so you don’t renew for another year by default.
- Export your data: past reviews, goals, survey results and feedback. If you used Lattice HRIS, that access ended July 31, 2026, so confirm what you still hold.
- Rebuild your review templates and survey questions in the new tool before the next cycle starts.
- Connect your HRIS, SSO and Slack or Teams so employee records and notifications flow from day one.
- Run one cycle with a pilot team, then roll out company-wide.
When should you stay on Lattice?
Stay if you have a dedicated HR ops team, run structured annual review cycles, never used its HRIS, and your team is large enough that the $4,000 minimum doesn’t matter. Lattice still does structured performance management well, includes 1:1s, updates and feedback with every base product, and charges no extra implementation fee for its performance software. Switching costs are real.
How do you choose the right Lattice alternative?
Ask these four questions in your demos:
- Do we need engagement and performance in one platform, or best-of-breed tools for each?
- Will we use every module we pay for, or do we need modular pricing?
- Do we need recognition with real rewards, or just praise?
- Will managers actually use it weekly without training?
The right tool is the one your managers will use consistently, not the one with the longest feature list.
Bottom line
Lattice is still a solid performance platform, and its HRIS exit doesn’t change that. But if you’re paying a $4,000 floor for a small team, paying for a suite you half use, or you want engagement, recognition and reviews to work together, there are better-fitting options.
If that sounds like your team, ThriveSparrow lets you start with one module and add the rest as you grow, with One-on-Ones and Feedback free on every plan.

Frequently asked questions
1. Who are Lattice’s main competitors?
Lattice’s main competitors for HR and performance management are ThriveSparrow, 15Five, Culture Amp, Leapsome, Small Improvements and Betterworks. Workleap (formerly Officevibe) competes on flat-fee engagement, and BambooHR competes for teams that need an HRIS. The right one depends on whether your priority is engagement, manager check-ins, analytics or a system of record.
2. How much does Lattice cost in 2026?
Lattice costs $4 to $10 per seat per month per module, billed annually: Engagement $4, Goals & OKRs $8 and Performance $10, or $13 for the Foundations bundle. Compensation and Grow are add-ons at $6 and $4. Every contract has a $4,000 annual minimum, and no free trial is listed.
3. What is cheaper than Lattice?
ThriveSparrow is a cheaper Lattice alternative for most teams because its pricing is modular: recognition starts at $2 and engagement surveys at $3 per employee per month, with no published minimum. A 50-person team pays $4,000 a year for Lattice Engagement because of its minimum, and $1,800 for ThriveSparrow Engage at list price.
4. Is Lattice shutting down?
No. Lattice discontinued only its HRIS and payroll products. Payroll access ended on March 31, 2026 and HRIS access on July 31, 2026. Its performance management and engagement products continue.
5. What should I use instead of Lattice HRIS?
Former Lattice HRIS customers need a dedicated HRIS and payroll provider, such as BambooHR. If you also want to change your performance or engagement tools, pair the HRIS with a platform like ThriveSparrow, 15Five or Culture Amp rather than expecting one tool to do everything.
6. What’s the difference between Lattice and 15Five?
Lattice is built around structured performance cycles and goals, priced per module with a $4,000 minimum. 15Five is built around weekly manager check-ins, with Engage at $4, Perform at $11 and Total Platform at $16 per user per month. Choose 15Five if manager habits matter most; choose Lattice for formal review structure.
7. What’s the difference between Lattice and Culture Amp?
Culture Amp goes deeper on engagement analytics and benchmarking, and offers Shoutouts recognition inside Slack and Microsoft Teams. Lattice is stronger on structured performance management. Lattice publishes per-seat prices; Culture Amp is quote-only, so neither is automatically the budget option.
8. Is ThriveSparrow a good Lattice alternative?
ThriveSparrow is a good Lattice alternative for teams that want engagement surveys, peer recognition, 360 feedback and OKRs in one platform with modular pricing, plus free One-on-Ones and Feedback. It is not an HRIS. Lattice remains stronger for highly structured enterprise review cycles.
